Creators of Our Own Chaos

We can be creators of great chaos and disharmony in our lives when we suffer from our fears and obsessive concentration on self. I didn’t like getting up in the morning. I used to not want people to talk to me until it was at least noon. In fact, there were lots of things I didn’t like, and I made certain everyone knew what they were. Family, friends, coworkers, acquaintances, and strangers alike, quickly became aware of my many displeasures. I thought I was helping them out by being “honest”, so they would know better not to continue on with their aggravating behaviors. At least not while they were in my presence.

It turns out most people don’t like to have this pointed out to them all the time.

I now try and live by a new code: Love, patience, tolerance, and kindness towards all, even our enemies.

Acceptance is the key to all our problems.

Some thoughts on what I have learned to reflect my progress over that last few years in A.A.

“Freedom is what we do with what is done to us.”

Einstein posed the question: “Is the universe friendly or unfriendly?”

In the Big Book on Pg. 53 they ask the question; “God is everything or he is nothing. God either is or he isn’t. What was our choice to be?”

Unconditional surrender builds an unshakable foundation!

I attempted to stay as close as possible to the suggestions in the Big Book, and if you take exception to anything you find here, I mean no disrespect. These are ideas; points that I have found helpful when taking people through the steps.

The steps are meant to be lived!
